ABOUT BQC19
WHAT IS THE BIOBANQUE QUÉBÉCOISE DE LA COVID-19 (BQC19)?
The Biobanque Québécoise de la COVID-19 (BQC19) is a pan-provincial initiative to collect, store and share data and samples from patients with mild or severe forms of COVID-19, as well as from control subjects. These samples, collected during the acute phase of the disease as well as during longitudinal follow-ups between 2020 and 2024, cover the different waves of the pandemic. This collection of samples and data will enable us to respond to the public health challenges associated with the pandemic in a scientific and efficient way.

OBJECTIVES AND FUNDING
Funded by several entities, including the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQ-S), Génome Québec, the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec, BQC19 has collected a significant number of samples from ten facilities across Quebec. Its aim is to better understand the evolution and determinants of the infection caused by SARS-CoV-2, while supporting global research on COVID-19.
BQC19 MISSION
The main mission of the BQC19 is to ensure that scientists have optimal access to the biological materials and data they need to conduct research on COVID-19. This will enable us to meet the public health challenges posed by the pandemic, on the basis of sound scientific research and within a rigorous ethical and legal framework.
