ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Dear participants of BQC19,

We are contacting you today to thank you for your participation in the Quebec COVID-19 Biobank (BQC19) and to provide you with some information about the project.

As you may know, funding for BQC19 recruitment activities has now expired, which means that we must stop collecting samples and conducting clinical visits as you know them. However, this does not mean that the project is ending. Thanks to your participation and that of more than 6,600 other Quebecers, BQC19 has become one of the largest COVID-19 biobanks in Canada and an integrated global research platform. Your generous contribution has already led to more than 50 publications in prestigious scientific journals, contributing to the advancement of knowledge about COVID-19. And it’s not over yet, because the high quality of the BQC19 collection is already being used by researchers around the world, which means that more discoveries are on the way. We are also continuing our efforts to find new sources of funding, which will allow us to explore new research questions. It is therefore possible that we may ask for your help with other projects or follow-ups in the near future.

Proud of this collective achievement, we will now focus our energies on promoting the use of the BQC19 collection by the national and international scientific community and disseminating the results of the analyses already carried out. We invite you to visit our website regularly to follow the progress of the project. We will also be developing a section for “Participants” where we hope to create and share tools to explain the new knowledge acquired through BQC19. Stay tuned!

Finally, please note that although your participation has ended, our team remains available for any questions or comments you may have. Please feel free to contact us at any time using the contact information available on the website.

We hope that your participation in BQC19 was as enjoyable for you as it was for us. We would like to thank you once again for your valuable contribution.

Sincerely,

The BQC19 team
